Privacy Policy

Capital is a manual, on-device money tracker built to respect your privacy. There is no account, no tracking, and no connection to your bank. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do.

The short version

• No account, no sign-in. You can use everything without giving us any personal information.
• No bank connections. Capital never links to your bank or card. You enter balances and activity yourself — that's the whole design.
• No tracking, no ads, no analytics. Capital contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
• Everything stays on your device. Your accounts, transactions, receipts, and tax details are stored locally and are never sent to us. We have no servers.

Information the app handles

Your financial data. The accounts, balances, transactions, recurring items, and balance history you enter are stored locally on your device (using Apple's on-device SwiftData store). They are processed entirely on your device to produce your totals, projections, and reports. They are never transmitted to us or anyone else.

Receipts (optional). If you scan or attach a photo of a receipt, the image is stored only on your device, inside the app's own storage. It is never uploaded.

Tax & VAT details (optional). If you use the freelancer Tax feature, the figures you enter — including a VAT/GST number — are stored locally on your device and used only to compute on-device estimates. They are never transmitted.

Preferences stored on your device. Your appearance setting, reminder time, selected projection horizon, and similar preferences are saved in the app's local storage (UserDefaults) so the app remembers them between launches. You can clear all of this by deleting the app.

Network requests

Capital makes no network requests to fetch or send your data. Currency conversion uses a built-in reference exchange-rate table bundled with the app — no live call is made, and nothing about you leaves the device. The only network activity is with Apple, for in-app purchases (below).

Face ID & passcode

If you enable the app lock, authentication is performed by the system (Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode) through Apple's LocalAuthentication. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never seen by Capital.

Notifications

If you turn on the optional end-of-day reminder, it is scheduled as a local notification on your device. There is no push server and no message is sent over the network.

Purchases

Capital Pro (a one-time unlock) and the optional Supporter subscription are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles all payment information; Capital never sees your payment details. Your purchase entitlements are read from your Apple ID via StoreKit and are not stored on our servers (we have none).

Children

Capital is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised policy at this address.
